Pumpkin Spice Tapioca

I love tapioca. It's simple to make and makes a lovely dessert when you're looking for something not too heavy.  Today I spiced it up a bit.

I make it according to the package directions but after it was cooked (I cook mine in the microwave)  I added a 1/4 cup of pumpkin puree and a scant half teaspoon of pumpkin spice.  That's all I did but the results were amazingly delicious.  I suppose you could go a bit heavier on the pumpkin,  perhaps as much as a half cup but I liked the subtle flavour.  It didn't overpower the tapioca but enhanced it.

Another two journal entries.  Average day,  nothing special.  The green flower sticker I made out of old paper, pastels, plus white and black ink.  I am enjoying this simple art.

Alex and Greg are on a holiday travelling along the Cabot Trail.  We are dog sitting Baxter.  Paul is staying at their house at night so our cats can come out from the back of the house.  Bax does not like our cats.  The feeling is mutual.

We took a photo hunt drive.  Paul took a video of a man feeding a fox and her kits but forgot to take a still shot.  It was delightful to watch but the man shouldn't really be feeding wildlife.

Old Ladies

This old lady figurine used to scare me as a child.  It belonged to my mother but she wasn’t fond of it so she gave it to my grandmother who treasured it until her death in 1996.  It  came back home to my mother who now saw a beauty in it that had in her youth escaped her. When my mother passed in 2008, it became mine.  I am no longer fearful of it but embrace in it the beauty that graced my  grandmother, then my mother and now myself.  A beauty that can only be obtained with age.
