My mother would have been 87 had she not passed 10 years ago. Her favourite flowers were daisies so whenever I see daisies I think of her. This morning I woke up to the song I'll Give You a Daisy a Day playing on the radio. I thought she must be near. I went to the florist in the afternoon and asked if she had any daisies. She told me she had three stems left over from an arrangement she had done that week. She doesn't usually carry them. Luck (or mom) was with me so I bought them. I usually draw or paint daisies when I'm missing her. I thought this might be a nice way to honour her memory today.

Anniversary Surprise
My son Alex and his partner Greg showed up early for a concert we were going to attend. They brought with them a beautiful set of dishes I had been admiring at one of the local antique shops. Crown Ducal in gorgeous sapphire blue. Underneath the dishes is an antique linen and lace luncheon cloth my grandmother was given by her mother when she came to Canada from Ireland in 1927. What a wonderful surprise for Paul and my 38th anniversary tomorrow. Thanks boys xoxo
