Dresden Plates

I started these blocks years ago.  I have 83 blocks created but I've never bothered to finish them.  This is partly because when we moved to New Brunswick twelve years ago, I gave my entire stash of fabric away, assuming I'd just rebuild it.  Ha!  I no longer had any fabrics matching those in my Dresden plate blocks so I couldn't find a way to sash it, border it  or join it together.

I have been steeling fabric from another unfinished quilt to finish this one.  I expect that it will end up as a few wall quilts instead of a bed quilt.

Lesson learned:
Don't be to quick to downsize or simplify.  I have regretted so much of what I've gotten rid of.

I actually love winter.  I love the down time.  Paul took a mini vacation from work.  We didn't do much but it was nice having no bed time and no alarm clock . . .  other than the dogs and cats which are our natural alarm clocks.  The dogs are more content  to sleep in but the cats,  especially Marmalade, had a built in breakfast buzzer.  Vladdie,  the lazy cat likes to jog before breakfast.  He sounds like a truck driving up and down the hall.  Never-the-less,  the vaca was lovely.
